Sweep The Problem Under The Rug…

The entities which have control of where I can park my car are now telling me, through a third party, that I can no longer step foot in their facility. I have not been given an explanation for no longer being able to work there, but this means that my hours have, in effect, been cut in half.

We are in a time when alternative energy should be embraced and not feared. The Senate just passed a bill, which President Obama signed, that will reduce greenhouse emissions by letting people work at home through telemeetings and telework.

This fight that I am going through is petty on the Juvenile Justice Facilites’ part. Sooner or later, the responsible parties making future decisions concerning policies for accommodating ZERO emission vehicles are going to have to face the fact that alternative energy is here to stay.

The major auto manufacturers have taken a giant step forward and will be putting plug in electric and pure electric vehicles on the market for purchase as early as this year. What are the Counties throughout the nation going to do when there are more people driving these amazing Zero emission vehicles? Are they going to say “you can’t park that here, you need to go spend $4.00 gal on gas and pollute the air to work here.” Of course not.

Well, I didn’t expect to have to fight for the right to drive an electric vehicle AND be able to work. I am a Veteran of two foriegn wars and am willing to fight for those in the land of the free to plug in.

I drove my EV1E to work in daylight conditions and, back at night. A total of 56 miles, 26 of which was freeway driving. I didn’t push the pedal all the way to the floor but I still got 60mph on the freeway….A great day

This is great! I drove her home, drove her to the store, drove her to band practice and didn’t use one drop of gasoline. She is really starting to look like a real car. Check out the photos…

May’s Gonna Be Great!

OK here is the latest. I will get Ev1e back from Cars etc. next week (after Wednesday) and I have some work to do before I get the interior done. The first thing is moving the wheels out so that they fit in the wheel wells properly. The next is…Performance. The fastest I have been able to go so far is 58 mph. This car is supposed to be able to go 90 mph I have been in touch with the folks at Azure and they sent me some parameter settings for a DMOC capture. I will be running some driving test and sending them the results. They will then send me the proper settings to make my car Go go go! Then I will get the interior done. Here are some more pics of EV1E’s progress. The changes are subtle but definite.

This is how EV1E looked today. Note the door jams and the lip around the headlight housing. Rigo is going to do a little more work on the headlight housing and prep it for paint. The directional lights have changed as well…more later.

My Green Car

The guys have been busy over at Cars Etc. and I thought I would share the results! Look at the lines on this baby. The doors open and close with just two clicks and the doors are starting to look as if they came with the car. And look at those headlight housings…I’ll bet those lenses fit much better now. But stay tuned we have got even more surprises in store.
