My Green Car

Posted in Body and Fender, Design at 10:55 am by Administrator

The guys have been busy over at Cars Etc. and I thought I would share the results! Look at the lines on this baby. The doors open and close with just two clicks and the doors are starting to look as if they came with the car. And look at those headlight housings…I’ll bet those lenses fit much better now. But stay tuned we have got even more surprises in store.
Thanks guys, way to go!!

I must get some video footage on this so you can see how well these doors work. I never would’ve believed it possible. Here are the latest pics…

Getting There

I went to visit EV1E at Cars Etc. and found that Rigo has been at it again. This is a picture of the latest incarnation of the Tail section. Just a little more sculpting and this section of her will be a master piece.

Rigo’s Work in Progress

Posted in Body and Fender, Design at 1:22 pm by Administrator

Today I went to Cars Etc to check up on EV1E’s progress and I discovered that Rigo was on vacation. Before he left though he was busy on EV1E. The doors are coming along just fine. They are a force to be reckoned with, and Fidel is just the guy to tame them. Booth doors latch now and open and close without obstruction.

Steadily Evenly

Yesterday when I went over to Cars Etc., I was shown by Fidel how well the passenger side door works now. It opens and closes. and latches completely, just like a real door! Meanwhile Rigo has started the tail lights sculpture and as you can see they are coming along beautifully!

Today I went down to Cars Etc, 2332 S. Paulson Road, Turlock CA 95380, to visit Fidel, Rigo, and EV1E. The doors open and close now without rubbing anything. I brought down my LED directional lights for the headlight assy. I took some pictures of the outside of the shop.

As I mentioned before. Eddie at Sew Creative fabricated my headlight lenses. He also installed the headliner in my 59 T-Bird (which is non-op at present) and is an ace at upholstery.

Let the Makeover Begin

Posted in Body and Fender at 12:47 pm by Administrator

This morning I drove EV1E to Cars Etc for professional bodywork. Fidel, gave me great estimate and I may even get her painted down there. For now though EV1E is in very capable hands. I will be updating as she progresses. I will also be posting pictures of her progress.

Last Days of Jan 2010

Posted in Assembly, Body and Fender, Design at 11:39 am by Administrator

Hi All! I felt the need to give an update on the slow progress of EV1E. This month we started to prep her for paint and lo, the water came pouring down for quite a few days here in the valley. So while I was waiting I ordered a fiberglass piece which I have cut and am mounting in the back of EV1E to change the tail lights to round LEDs. The results will be stunning. I also did a warranty exchange on my ammeter gauge. The exchange went without flaw. Now that the weather is improving I will be finishing up EV1E cosmetically. I will also seal her for running all seasons
